Site not available with gunicorn --bind 0.0.0.0:8000 myproject.wsgi

I'm new to deployment, when i do python manage.py runserver 0.0.0.0:8000 i am able to access it on domain and ip with http

but when i do gunicorn --bind 0.0.0.0:8000 core.wsgi

i tried testing it by running wget http:server_ip:8000 or 127.0.0.1:8000

its just stuck on it Connecting to 127.0.0.1:8000... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response...
